I provide individual virtual counselling sessions to adults. Individual counselling sessions are unique to each person. In our first session, I will begin to gather a holistic understanding of your experience, your personal history, and your present life. Together we will collaborate on a plan for how we will spend our time together. For some people that means building a wellness plan, learning relaxation skills, examining unhelpful thoughts, fostering hope, practicing new skills, deconstructing societal pressures/expectations, exploring your identities, hopes or dreams, and more. Virtual counselling is provided through the JaneApp platform. 

Walk and Talk Counselling
Walk and Talk Counselling

Individual walk and talk therapy is only for clients that have already completed a virtual consultation, a first intake session and have identified walk and talk therapy as a fit for their therapeutic needs. Walk and talk therapy is much like a regular counselling session but with the added benefits of movement and connection with nature. If you would like to bring your baby in a stroller or carrier, we can arrange a location best suited for that. 

Prenatal Therapy Groups
Prenatal Therapy Groups

My prenatal wellness group is a 5-week virtual group typically run in the evenings intended for pregnant and expecting parents. In the group, we create individualized plans to care for and protect your physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing in postpartum. All groups are interactive and give opportunities for you to connect and relate with other parents in similar life stages as you. This group is open to all expectant parents and especially helpful to those with a history of anxiety or depression.

Postpartum Therapy Groups
Postpartum Therapy Groups

Postpartum virtual groups are customized in length and topics matching parents in similar stages of their postpartum journey or with similar needs/interest. Virtual groups typically run in the evenings for 4-6 weeks. Topics covered can include: anxiety, depression, self-compassion, self-care, postpartum body image, friendships, child development, parental sleep, addressing unhelpful thoughts, perfectionism in parenthood, birth experiences, feeding and more. Groups are interactive and give opportunities for you to connect and relate with other parents in similar life stages as you.

EMDR
EMDR

I provide individual EMDR counselling through virtual sessions. EMDR uses an 8-phase approach that includes history taking, resource and skill building, assessment, desensitization, installation of positive beliefs, body scan, closure, and re-evaluation. Some of these phases include dual attention stimulation (DAS) through bilateral eye movements, tactile or auditory stimulation.
